Summary

This early-phase trial tests an experimental drug called HMPL-A580 in 186 adults with advanced or metastatic solid tumors that cannot be removed by surgery. The study aims to find a safe dose and check for early signs that the drug shrinks tumors. It is currently recruiting participants.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
HMPL-A580 (an experimental drug)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with advanced solid tumors that have not responded to other therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early, first-in-human trial, so the drug may not be effective or could cause unexpected side effects. Results are preliminary and may not lead to a widely available treatment.
