New pilot aims to keep HIV patients on track despite mobility challenges

NCT ID NCT07329166

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a support package for people with HIV in Malawi who start or restart antiretroviral therapy (ART). The package includes mobility counseling, a toll-free hotline, and multi-month medication dispensing. Researchers want to see if this approach is acceptable to patients and healthcare workers, and if it helps reduce treatment interruptions. About 400 participants will be enrolled, with some clinics offering the package and others providing standard care.
