Pioneering trial tests organ transplants between HIV-Positive patients
NCT ID NCT02750397
Summary
This study followed people with HIV who received organ transplants from deceased donors who also had HIV. Researchers wanted to see if using organs from HIV-positive donors was safe and worked as well as transplants from donors without HIV. They tracked survival rates, organ rejection, and other health complications in a small group of 13 participants.
