Tailored attack on HIV-Linked anal cancer tests gentler vs. stronger approach

NCT ID NCT04929028

Summary

This study is testing two personalized treatment plans for anal cancer in people living with HIV. For patients with low-risk cancer, researchers are testing a reduced dose of chemotherapy and radiation to see if it's effective with fewer side effects. For patients with high-risk cancer, the study is adding an immunotherapy drug (nivolumab) after standard chemo-radiation to try to prevent the cancer from coming back.
