Brain bleed aftermath: does memory loss stem from a shrinking hippocampus?

NCT ID NCT04449666

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at people who had a specific type of brain bleed (aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage) to see if their memory problems are linked to a smaller hippocampus, a brain area important for memory. Researchers will use MRI scans and memory tests to compare patients with healthy volunteers. The goal is to better understand why some survivors have lasting memory issues.
