Can a simple oxygen mask keep kids safe during lung procedures?

NCT ID NCT07563075

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a special oxygen device (high-flow nasal cannula) can prevent dangerously low oxygen levels in children aged 1 to 6 years who are sedated for a lung exam called bronchoscopy. About 430 children will be randomly assigned to receive either the high-flow oxygen or standard care. The goal is to see if this method reduces breathing problems during the procedure.
