New study tracks hidden blood sugar index fluctuations in diabetes patients

NCT ID NCT06185491

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how a measure called the hemoglobin glycation index (HGI) changes over time in 750 adults with diabetes who use continuous glucose monitors. HGI compares lab-measured blood sugar levels with estimated levels from a glucose monitor. Researchers will collect data three times over about 18 months to see how stable this index is. The goal is to better understand blood sugar patterns, not to test a new treatment.
