NCT ID NCT07155330
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a high-flow nasal cannula (a device that delivers warm, moist oxygen through the nose) can prevent low oxygen levels during sedated gastrointestinal endoscopy in people at high risk for obstructive sleep apnea. The trial included 80 adults with a STOP-Bang score of 5 or higher who were scheduled for gastroscopy, colonoscopy, or both. The main goal was to see if this oxygen method reduces the chance of hypoxia (oxygen levels dropping between 75% and 90% for less than 60 seconds).
