New drug duo aims to shrink rectal tumors before surgery
NCT ID NCT05672524
Summary
This study is testing whether adding two targeted drugs (tucatinib and trastuzumab) to standard chemotherapy before surgery can help shrink tumors in people with a specific type of rectal cancer (HER2-positive). The main goal is to see if this combination leads to a complete disappearance of detectable cancer before surgery. The study is for 37 adults with locally advanced rectal cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body.
