Brazilian study maps HER2 in Women's cancers to guide future treatments

NCT ID NCT07101081

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study will test tumor samples from 350 adults with gynecological cancers (endometrial, ovarian, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal) to see how often they have high levels of the HER2 protein. Researchers will use two standard lab tests to measure HER2. The goal is to learn how common HER2-high cancers are in Brazil, which could help doctors decide who might benefit from HER2-targeted drugs in the future.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help identify which patients with gynecological cancers might benefit from HER2-targeted therapies in the future.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It only measures HER2 levels and does not test any drug, so it cannot directly improve outcomes.
