Could a simple blood test predict kidney failure after emergency surgery?

NCT ID NCT06857630

Summary

This study aims to understand if a patient's hemoglobin level (a measure of red blood cells that carry oxygen) before emergency surgery is linked to their risk of developing sudden kidney injury afterward. Researchers will observe 420 patients undergoing emergency surgery, recording their health data to see if lower hemoglobin levels make kidney injury more likely. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help doctors better predict and prevent this serious complication in the future.
