Heel-Free bandage may be more comfortable for leg ulcer patients
NCT ID NCT04046120
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested two ways of applying compression bandages for venous leg ulcers: one that covers the heel and one that leaves it uncovered. Researchers measured the pressure under the bandage and checked ankle swelling in 102 patients. The goal was to see if leaving the heel out affects comfort or pressure, which could help improve treatment guidelines.
