NCT ID NCT07501923
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at how being in hot conditions during the day, at night, or both affects the body and mind. Thirty-five healthy adults aged 18-30 will spend time in a temperature-controlled room. Researchers will measure heart function, lung capacity, blood markers of inflammation and stress, and mood changes. The goal is to understand the short-term health impacts of different heat exposure patterns.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help understand how different patterns of heat exposure impact health, potentially guiding public health advice during heatwaves.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study in healthy young adults only, so results may not apply to older or vulnerable populations. It measures short-term effects, not long-term health outcomes.
