First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study aims to create a detailed map of the cells lining the airways in healthy people. By analyzing gene activity in individual cells from different parts of the respiratory tract, researchers hope to better understand how these cells interact and how they change in diseases like asthma or allergies. Fifteen healthy, non-smoking volunteers aged 18-40 provided samples via brushing or biopsy. No treatment or intervention was given.
