New procedure aims to fix failing heart valves without major surgery
NCT ID NCT03193801
Summary
This study is testing a catheter-based procedure to replace failing artificial mitral heart valves. It involves 53 patients who have symptoms like shortness of breath due to their old valve not working properly. Doctors are checking if this less invasive approach is safe and helps patients feel better and live longer compared to needing another open-heart surgery.
