New ultrasound method may predict heart failure treatment success
NCT ID NCT07319065
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study aims to see if a new heart ultrasound technique, called myocardial work, can predict which patients will respond to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) for heart failure. Researchers will also establish normal heart ultrasound values in healthy Chinese adults. The study plans to enroll over 3,000 participants across multiple centers.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could help doctors better predict which heart failure patients will respond to cardiac resynchronization therapy, reducing the number of non-responders.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study that only measures heart function; it does not test a new treatment. The findings may not apply to all ethnic groups or heart failure patients.
