Blood test may replace painful heart biopsies for transplant patients

NCT ID NCT06414603

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study compares a simple blood test (Prospera) to the standard heart biopsy for detecting organ rejection in heart transplant patients. About 250 adults awaiting or receiving a heart transplant will be randomly assigned to one of the two monitoring methods. The goal is to see if the blood test can safely and effectively replace the more invasive biopsy procedure.
