Doctors track heart protection clock during surgery
NCT ID NCT07249424
Summary
This study aims to measure exactly how long a heart-protecting solution called Del Nido cardioplegia keeps the heart safe during open-heart surgery. Researchers will enroll 80 adults having elective valve or aortic surgery and take small, timed blood samples during and after their operation to look for signs of heart stress. The goal is to help surgeons know the best time to reapply the protective solution, potentially improving patient recovery.
