Could simple heart scans keep seniors out of hospitals?
NCT ID NCT06445231
Summary
This study is testing whether offering routine heart ultrasound screenings to nursing home residents can help reduce emergency hospital visits for heart problems. Researchers will compare nursing homes that offer the screenings to those that provide usual care, following 1,050 residents across 30 facilities. The goal is to see if early detection of heart issues through screening leads to better management and fewer heart-related emergencies over 12 months.
