Wearable heart patch trial aims to stop strokes before they happen

NCT ID NCT07343895

Summary

This study is testing if a 7-day heart monitor patch can help prevent strokes. It will enroll 4,000 people who have a high level of a specific blood marker but no known heart rhythm problems. Half will wear the monitor to check for a hidden irregular heartbeat (AFib); if found, they will receive blood-thinning medication. Researchers will then track both groups for six years to see if the monitoring and treatment leads to fewer strokes and heart-related deaths.
