First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at 80 adults having heart valve or aortic surgery to find out how long Del Nido cardioplegia (a solution that temporarily stops the heart) keeps the heart muscle safe. Researchers took blood samples during and after surgery to measure when heart injury starts. The goal is to help surgeons know the best timing for re-dosing the solution, without changing standard care.
