Heart-Saving pill may shield cancer patients from chemo damage

NCT ID NCT07245069

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called dapagliflozin can protect the heart from damage caused by a common type of breast cancer chemotherapy. About 100 women receiving anthracycline chemotherapy will take either dapagliflozin or a placebo pill daily during treatment. Researchers will use heart ultrasounds, blood tests, and walking tests to see if the drug helps preserve heart and blood vessel function.
