New pacing approach may help more heart failure patients
NCT ID NCT01260402
First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026
Summary
This study tested two ways to pace the left side of the heart in people with severe heart failure. The standard method uses veins on the heart's surface, while the new method paces from inside the heart chamber. Researchers wanted to see if the inside approach offers more pacing spots and better heart function. Only 6 adults took part, and the focus was on short-term improvement in heart pumping strength.
