Arm cuff treatment could shield organs during heart surgery
NCT ID NCT04982419
Summary
This study tests whether repeatedly inflating and deflating a blood pressure cuff on the arm before heart procedures can protect patients' kidneys from damage. Researchers are enrolling 240 people with heart failure who need coronary angiography or stents. The goal is to see if this simple, non-invasive method reduces kidney injury and improves walking ability and heart health markers.
