First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested whether eplerenone, a drug that blocks a hormone called aldosterone, can improve blood flow to the heart and reduce scarring better than a standard blood pressure drug (chlorthalidone) in people with obesity and high blood pressure. About 79 adults took part. The goal was to see if eplerenone helps the heart work better, independent of blood pressure changes.
