First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This pilot study looks at how daily experiences like stress and discrimination, health behaviors like sleep and exercise, and neighborhood factors affect heart health in Black women. Researchers will monitor 80 Black women aged 18-49 using wearable devices, surveys, and lab tests to measure blood vessel function and other biomarkers. The goal is to better understand why Black women face higher heart disease risks and find ways to improve prevention.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could reveal key factors that contribute to heart disease risk in Black women, pointing toward better prevention strategies.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage observational study with only 80 participants, so findings may not apply to all Black women. It does not test any treatment.
