Heart pressure check during ablation could unlock better heart failure care

This study looks at 300 people having a procedure for atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). During the procedure, doctors measure the blood pressure inside the heart's left upper chamber. If it is high, it may mean the heart is struggling with unrecognized heart failure. The study compares patients who get a quick heart failure check and medication adjustment within 24 hours to those who receive usual care. The goal is to see if this approach leads to better use of heart failure medicines, improved heart function, and fewer irregular heartbeat episodes over the next year.
