New stomach bug treatment could stop dangerous bleeding in heart patients

Summary
This study aims to see if treating a common stomach infection can prevent dangerous gastrointestinal bleeding in heart attack patients who have received stents and must take blood-thinning medications. It will compare a new two-drug infection treatment against a standard stomach acid medicine in 2,600 patients over six months. The goal is to find a safer way to manage patients who are at high risk for bleeding complications.
