Scientists scan hearts and brains to uncover hidden clot dangers
NCT ID NCT04829825
Summary
This study aims to better understand how and when dangerous blood clots form in the heart after a major heart attack, and their link to stroke risk. Researchers will use special combined PET/MR scans to image the hearts and brains of 100 patients who recently had a heart attack. The goal is to gather knowledge about clot activity over time, which could help guide future treatments, but this study itself does not test a new treatment.
