Alzheimer's Patients' hearts under the scanner: a new clue?
NCT ID NCT07154394
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study looks at whether people with Alzheimer's disease also have harmful protein clumps (amyloid) in their hearts, which can cause heart failure. Researchers will use special PET scans—normally used to see amyloid in the brain—to also scan the heart. About 15 participants will get extra heart scans and an ultrasound to find out how often this happens, which could lead to better diagnosis for both Alzheimer's and heart disease.
