Summary
This study looks at whether the chemicals released during the 2023 train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio caused DNA damage in local residents. About 500 people from affected counties will give blood, spit, hair, or nail samples and answer a survey. The goal is to measure biological changes linked to the disaster and understand how proximity and health history affect risk.
