First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a 4-session virtual program called CHAT-S for young adult cancer survivors aged 26-39. The program aims to improve their understanding of health insurance, reduce financial burden, and help them get recommended follow-up cancer screenings. Researchers will track 300 participants from two healthcare systems to see if the program works.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
CHAT-S behavioral intervention (virtual sessions with a patient navigator)
What this could lead to
If successful, this program could help young cancer survivors better manage their health insurance and reduce financial stress, potentially improving their long-term health follow-up.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial focused on education, not a medical treatment. Results may not apply to all cancer types or healthcare systems, and the program may not lead to lasting changes.
