Summary

This study looks at whether a medicine called peginterferon alfa, alone or with other antivirals, can clear the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) from the blood of people with chronic hepatitis B who have already tried interferon. Clearing HBsAg is considered a functional cure. About 10,000 adults aged 18-65 will choose their treatment group. The goal is to see if the virus becomes undetectable and stays that way.
