Blood test and ultrasound may replace scopes for ulcer risk
NCT ID NCT07458490
First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a blood test for H. pylori bacteria and a painless stomach ultrasound can predict dangerous complications like bleeding or holes in the stomach lining. Researchers will study 230 adults with stomach symptoms to see if these simple tests can tell who needs an urgent scope and who can wait. The goal is to create a risk score that avoids unnecessary invasive procedures.
