First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a probiotic (Saccharomyces boulardii) to a standard 4-drug antibiotic treatment can better clear H. pylori infection in people whose previous treatment failed. About 1,248 adults who still have the infection after prior therapy will receive either the probiotic plus antibiotics or antibiotics alone. The main goal is to see if the combination leads to more infections being cured, while also tracking side effects.
