Probiotic boost tested to finally beat stubborn stomach bug
NCT ID NCT07139366
Summary
This study is for people whose previous treatments failed to clear an H. pylori stomach infection. It tests whether adding a specific probiotic (Saccharomyces boulardii) to a standard 14-day antibiotic regimen makes the treatment more effective and safer. About 1,248 adults who have had a failed treatment will be randomly assigned to get either the antibiotics alone or the antibiotics plus the probiotic.
