First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This pilot study tests whether transferring gut bacteria from a healthy donor (via a stool transplant) can change the gut microbiome in 30 people with type 2 diabetes and stable coronary artery disease. Researchers will measure changes in gut bacteria and explore effects on metabolism, inflammation, and blood vessel health. The goal is to gather information for future larger trials, not to prove a treatment works.
