Summary

This study tests two approaches to improve thinking and reduce inflammation in people with HIV who drink alcohol. One approach uses a probiotic supplement to restore healthy gut bacteria. The other uses a mild electrical device worn on the ear to stimulate a nerve linked to inflammation. Participants will take the probiotic for 90 days or use the stimulator daily for 30 days. The goal is to see if these gut-brain interventions can improve cognition and reduce harmful gut bacteria.
