Could a poop test predict your colon cancer risk?

NCT ID NCT07321548

Summary

This study investigated whether analyzing the bacteria in a person's stool could help predict their risk for colon cancer or pre-cancerous growths called adenomas. Researchers collected samples from over 1,700 people with different colon health statuses to see if specific bacterial patterns could serve as a non-invasive screening tool. The goal is to develop a simple test to identify high-risk individuals who need more frequent colonoscopy exams.
