Could your gut bacteria predict cancer treatment success?

NCT ID NCT06181201

Summary

This study aimed to see if the types of bacteria in a person's gut before starting cancer treatment could predict how well their rectal tumor would respond to chemotherapy and radiation. It was a small, observational study that only enrolled two patients before it was stopped. Researchers planned to analyze stool samples to look for connections between gut bacteria and treatment outcomes.
