Gut check: could your microbiome influence Anorexia's mental toll?
NCT ID NCT05632497
First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at how changes in gut bacteria (dysbiosis) might be linked to anxiety, depression, and eating disorder symptoms in people with anorexia nervosa. Researchers will compare 120 participants—including patients with severe anorexia and healthy volunteers—using questionnaires, blood tests, and body measurements. The goal is to better understand the connection between gut health and mental health, not to test a new treatment.
