Can your own blood heal your gums? new study explores a natural boost for gum disease treatment
NCT ID NCT07293962
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a gel made from a patient's own blood can improve gum healing after standard deep cleaning for moderate to severe gum disease. About 14 adults with gum pockets of 5mm or deeper will receive the blood gel on one side of the mouth and a saltwater rinse on the other. Researchers will measure pocket depth, gum attachment, and bleeding over 3 months to see if the blood product helps.
