NCT ID NCT07292870

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding different biomaterials (like artificial bone, enamel proteins, or a blood concentrate) to standard gum surgery helps repair bone defects around teeth. Thirty adults with deep gum pockets after initial treatment will receive one of four biomaterial combinations during minimally invasive surgery. Researchers will measure bone and gum healing over 12 months to see which approach works best.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

biomaterials (artificial bone, enamel matrix derivative, hyaluronic acid, L-PRF)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could identify which biomaterial best helps regrow bone around teeth after gum surgery, improving long-term tooth retention.

What could go wrong

This is a small early-stage trial with only 30 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatments are surgical and carry risks like infection or incomplete healing.
