Proton beams may spare healthy brain in glioblastoma patients

Summary
This study tests whether proton beam radiation causes fewer side effects than standard photon radiation in people with glioblastoma, a serious brain cancer. About 326 adults who need radiation after surgery or biopsy will be randomly assigned to one of the two types. The main goal is to see if protons reduce early side effects, while also tracking survival, tumor control, and quality of life.
