Summary
This study tests whether a concentrated grape powder, taken for three days before heart surgery, can prevent a common complication called post-operative atrial fibrillation (POAF). POAF is an irregular heartbeat thought to be triggered by inflammation after surgery. The trial will include 70 adults aged 50-79 undergoing mitral valve repair. Participants will either receive the grape powder or a placebo, and researchers will monitor heart rhythm and inflammation markers.
