First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This small study tested whether taking L-glutamine for 60 days could reduce high blood pressure in the lungs of adults with non-transfusion-dependent thalassemia. Eight participants were split into two groups: one received glutamine plus standard care, the other standard care alone. Researchers measured lung blood pressure with ultrasound at the start and end of the study to see if glutamine made a difference.
