This small study tested whether L-glutamine, a common supplement, can reduce high blood pressure in the lungs of adults with non-transfusion-dependent thalassemia. Eight participants took either glutamine plus standard care or standard care alone for 60 days. The main goal was to see if glutamine could lower lung artery pressure measured by ultrasound. The study is complete, but results are not yet reported.
