Diabetes drug shows promise for slowing memory loss in early dementia

Summary

This study tests a new weekly injection (mazdutide) in 420 people with type 2 diabetes who also have mild cognitive impairment or early dementia. The goal is to see if the drug can slow down memory and thinking problems over 76 weeks. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the active drug or a placebo, and their cognitive function is measured regularly.
