Summary

This study looks at how GLP-1 receptor agonists (like Ozempic or Wegovy) affect stomach emptying in people scheduled for surgery. These drugs help with weight loss by slowing digestion, but standard fasting rules before surgery may not be enough to prevent food or liquid from entering the lungs during anesthesia. Researchers will use ultrasound to measure stomach contents in 100 adults taking these medications, aiming to create safer fasting guidelines.
