Could a new eye drop beat an old favorite for glaucoma?

NCT ID NCT07617532

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This Phase 3 trial tests a new eye drop, DNN.31.19.026, against a standard treatment (Cosopt) for people with high eye pressure or open-angle glaucoma. About 336 adults will use the drops twice daily for 56 days. The main goal is to see if the new drop lowers eye pressure better and is just as safe.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

DNN.31.19.026 eye drops

What this could lead to

If successful, this could offer a new, safe option for lowering eye pressure in people with glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

What could go wrong

This is a Phase 3 trial, but it's not yet recruiting. The new eye drops may not lower pressure better than the existing drug Cosopt, and side effects are possible.
