Polarized camera snaps true colors of grafted gums
NCT ID NCT07199686
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a special polarized camera could give more accurate and consistent measurements of gum color after free gingival graft surgery. Fifty adults who had the surgery at least six months earlier took part. Instead of relying on the naked eye, researchers used digital color analysis to compare the grafted area with the surrounding gum tissue. The goal was to create a reliable, non-contact way to track healing and cosmetic outcomes.
